Wow - my "inner critic" was having a field day yesterday! I did my (first ever) video interview with two of the three facilitators of an upcoming course that I think is going to be really great (called "Social Media Bootcamp with Soul"). We did the video conferencing with our computers' webcams. There had been some technical glitches with the video, but that's not what my inner critic focused on. As I watched the replay, I found myself ... [Keep Reading]
Baby Quail
I have found that animals and birds bring me a lot of joy. Some are majestic, some are powerful, some are adorable. And to see little baby animals and birds just really makes me happy! Every once in a while, we'll see wild turkeys in our neighborhood. There are wild bunnies in the park down the street. And a few years ago, we started seeing quail in the neighborhood. A few weeks ago, I saw a Mama and Papa quail with their little fuzzy ... [Keep Reading]
Controversial Compassion
The day before yesterday a scary thing happened.... We live in a neighborhood that is nestled up against the beautiful foothills. We are also fortunate to have a lovely park down the street, with old Oak trees and hiking trails going through these hills. Now that it's Summertime, there is much dry grass throughout. Suddenly, we noticed a large cloud of smoke billowing up, coming from the direction of the park. Soon there were ... [Keep Reading]
All I Need to Be Is ME!
(This is from my recent newsletter, so this may be a duplicate for some of you reading this.) A friend recently loaned me the book "Dying to Be Me" by Anita Moorjani. Anita's story really touched me and confirmed some of the things that I have been feeling are really important. Anita is East Indian and was raised in the Hindu faith. Her family lived in Hong Kong while she was growing up and she attended Catholic schools. As you can ... [Keep Reading]
Mindfulness
The other morning I was driving to an appointment. Right before leaving, I had been working on a project, writing down thoughts for it. As I drove to the appointment, my mind was still on the project and additional ideas were coming to me. Since I didn't want to lose these couple ideas, I grabbed a notepad and pen I keep in the car and quickly jotted down some notes - as I was driving. They were short notes, so it really ... I’m Seeing Red
This is the last post for "Color Week", and today's color is Red. It was fun using all these photos that I took around my neighborhood! Red is the color of the first or root chakra. Our root chakra helps us stay connected to the Earth; staying in our bodies. It is where we feel security and stability; as well as our sense of connection to our "tribe". Other meanings for red are: Energy and action Fire and ... [Keep Reading]
In the Pink
Holy smokes - have I been tired this week! Yesterday I checked in with a friend who had also been wiped out this week and she sent me a Facebook post by a fellow Angel Therapy Practitioner which said: Today the Angels are asking all of us to take it easy, be very gentle with ourselves at this time and pull back on trying to do everything and get everything done. They say a huge transmission came through when Venus went direct and a lot ... [Keep Reading]
Sunny Yellow
It's day three of my Color Week. These photos are from my "color walk" in the neighborhood, taking photos of particular colors. I'm feeling rather Sunny Yellow-ish today! The sun's shining and the air is crisp this morning. The chakra associated with yellow is the solar plexus. Ahh...our personal power chakra. I really feel we are in a time that we are invited to step more fully into our Authentic Selves and our personal power. I find ... [Keep Reading]
Blue Skies…
...shinin' on me. For day two of my color week, I've chosen to go with the color that speaks to me instead of the exact color of the day from the e-course assignment (see yesterday's blog post for day one). Today I'm diggin' these blues! There are so many gorgeous shades of blue. I love that I found such great blue things to photograph while walking in my neighborhood. We have two shades of blue in our chakras. We have a ... [Keep Reading]
The Start of “Color Week”
Color Walk Last week was "Color Week" in the Beyond Layers e-course I'm taking. The assignment was to take photos of things that are the color of that day. I wasn't able to spend time each day on this, but on Friday I decided I'd take a "color walk" as my morning walk. With my camera ready, I took my walk with my eyes open to different colors. It was really fun! It was also the reason a sweet elderly lady stopped and chatted with me ... [Keep Reading]
