Choosing Grace & Ease in the Busy Season

Are you like me and find yourself looking at your calendar and “wigging out” a bit? With the holiday season starting REALLY soon, I’m looking at the things I need to get done between now and the end of December (which is only a month and a half away!) and knowing that I’ll have extra tasks on my plate due to the holidays. Even though I love having my boys off of school, I will not have my usual quiet space to do my work. OK, are you feeling that little bit of tightening up in your body too?

Let’s take in a nice deep breath together, shall we?

We can remember that we have choices in what we put on our to-do list during this time. We can remember that self-care and taking time to refill our cups will be crucial during this time.

Simplifying is also a good choice right now. Are all the tasks on your to-do list absolutely necessary? Can you do some after the holiday season? Choose activities that will refuel you instead of deplete you.

It’s easy to get stressed and overwhelmed.

I love how Spirit lines things up for us ~ tomorrow’s Angelic EFT call just happens to be on the topic of “Burnout to Balance: How to Transform Stress and Overwhelm in to Inner Peace and Calm” with guest speaker Lynda Monk of Creative Wellness. And I’ve decided to make this session free!

I am choosing to heed my own advice. I was thinking it would be lovely to hold a virtual retreat in a few weeks, creating a fun, yet powerful space where you could give yourself a few hours to take care of you; letting go of stress and overwhelm by using doodling and art, music and movement, and Angelic EFT ~ and you wouldn’t have to travel anywhere. However, I must walk my talk! It’s very possible that creating this during this busy time may be putting too much on my plate. So ~ I will plan to do this at another time (unless Spirit orchestrates things so that this can be accomplished easily and gracefully in a few weeks).

  1. Maryellen,
I can so relate to your blog! It is so easy to overextend ourselves during the holidays and feel completely depleted and not take of ourselves. I agree that self-care is so crucial at all times during the year, but especially around the holidays. How can we be our best when we are feeling depleted.
Thank you for reinforcing this for me!
