The Beauty of Change

Do you ever have those days (or weeks) when you’re faced with a challenge, feeling stuck or blocked, or maybe just in a funk? And you just wish things would change?

We all go through this at different times; and in different areas of our lives.

So, if you are wishing and hoping for some change in your life…invite change into your life!

Change things up a bit. Let the Universe know that you’re open to change by doing some things differently. That will help get the energy of change moving within your life.

You can do simple things like:

  • Drive a different route to a usual destination (especially if it’s a more enjoyable route)
  • Drink your morning coffee or tea out a different cup (using a beautiful tea cup can signify that you’re looking forward to your life becoming more beautiful and special)
  • Have flowers or a lit candle on your dinner table
  • Take a bath instead of a shower
  • Buy yourself a pen to write everyday things with, but in a vibrant color!

Recently I was having a challenging day, so I thought I would take a walk. It was a lovely day that day. The sun was out and everything looked so green. I have my usual route I walk, but I felt the nudge to walk in our neighborhood park that has trails going into the hills.

I pulled out my phone and took photos as I allowed myself to just notice and soak up all the beauty around me. I took photos of the beautiful Oak trees from different angles, noticing and appreciating their amazing form and beauty

Coming from a different direction in the park, I got to shoot photos from a “different perspective”.IMAG0535

Just this simple act of doing something a little differently really shifted my own perspective. Wanting to take photos caused me to really be in the moment. To really look at what was around me, instead of just walking for walking’s sake. My mood was so uplifted.

As I walked back to my house, I noticed a few yellow flowers starting to bloom on a (still scraggly from the winter) bush. This was a good reminder that the blossoming of Spring always follows the dark and dormant Winter. Things are always changing.

And we can do our part to usher in the energy of change. Change things up a bit!

What sort of thing will you do to invite change into your life?

I’d love to hear your ideas. Please post them below in the comment area.

  1. Hi Maryellen. Great ideas! Taking photos always opens me up too. Your oak tree photos are gorgeous. Blessings, Nancy

  2. Hi Maryellen. Good idea with the changing of perspective. Thankyou. This allowed me to reflect on only yesterday we finished our house renovations. We now have a new renovated bathroom, the old pink bath and sink from the 70s are now gone, painted hallway, doors now shut properly, painted kitchen with new lights and skylight allowing the natural light to come in and also updated the laundry and toilet. We thought outside the square and put in the laundry a bathroom vanity instead of the usual tub as the toilet is connected to it and away from the bathroom. We thought this a little nicer for visitors. This has definately bought a positive change into my life. I will remember to cut flowers and bring them into the house more regularly thankyou Maryellen.

  5. Hi Maryellen,

Thanks for sharing your lovely walk and photos and ideas with us. This is the perfect time of year for change, Spring cleaning, walks, photo ops. The light in N. California is at just the right angle this time of year to fire up the lush greens and shine through the blossoming trees and bushes. I don’t know if my phone will take such gorgeous pictures as yours but I feel inspired to go try it out!

    Blessings,

    Dawn
