In Kim Klassen’s “Beyond Layers: a year of art full inspiration” e-course I’m taking, she challenged us to do an exercise that would share 10 truths about us. It would be a fun way to get to know one another. So, I’m game!
Here are my 10 Truths About Me:
1. This year my husband and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. (Too bad our boys are only teenagers and can’t afford to throw us a big bash :-)) That’s my hubby and me above.
2. I have found that I love Pinterest! It has let me connect visually with the things I love. It has also helped me notice or remember the things I love – like dance, beautiful dresses, adorable children, and precious animals. It’s a visual feast for me!
3. I love beauty! Any kind of beauty – flowers, art, words, music, inner beauty, a beautiful smile…there’s so much beauty to be found around us.
4. Our twin sons started high school this school year. After they got out of the car on that first day of school in August, I suddenly started crying. I realized that I only have four more years with them before they start college.
5. I have really enjoyed being a Mom. I think I appreciate being a Mom more because I started having children at an older age (37). It’s been hard as h@ll sometimes, but it’s been a wonderful ride.
6. We have a cat that was born a feral. His mama had left her babies at different houses in our neighborhood. I wanted to find that 2 week old kitten a home, but after two days, I was hooked! It was so sweet feeding him by bottle. Four years later, he does have his “mean feral moments”, but I love him anyway.
7. I love when I listen to and follow the nudgings of Spirit, because they always bring me to wonderful things and experiences.
8. I had never thought of myself as being a very creative person (probably because I got scolded and humiliated in front of the class as a child for coloring outside of the lines), but I’m enjoying opening up to my creative self and finding new ways of expressing me.
9. This year completes 8 years of volunteering at my sons’ schools, being a part of a program that teaches the students about bullying (how to deal with it, how to be a good friend, how to be an upstander – not a bystander, etc). It’s been a labor of love as it’s something dear to my heart, yet it feels that it’s time to say goodbye to that and move on.
10. As a child I was a petite little girl who loved to dance, and my grandmother called me “her little fairy”. As an adult I love when I call forward that fairy part of me – it’s so light and sparkly!
I hope you enjoyed a little peek into some of my truths

Hey Nancy! I look forward to reading yours
Maryellen,
I loved reading your list but was sad to hear that you were discouraged from creating by a heartless teacher. Glad that you overcame that.

Thanks, Charlotte! Yes, it sure is too bad that teachers discouraged children a lot in the “old days”.
Nice post. It is nice to get to know you.
Thanks, Bobbie! Thanks for visiting
Congrats on 25 years. Enjoyed reading your list.
Thanks, Tammy! Boy, it doesn’t seem like it was 25 whole years ago. I can’t be that old
