About Sacred Ceremony
(excepts from my chapter “Everyday Sacred Ceremony with the Angels” in the book “Angels” Winged Whispers”)
Angels are an important part of my life. They guide me, comfort me, and assist me. They remind me that I am not alone on this path called life. One of the ways I love asking the angels to assist me and bless me is through sacred ceremony. Through the physical act of ceremony, we are telling God and the angels that we choose to participate in the manifestation of our dreams and desires. We are taking action, even if it only seems like symbolic acts.
The angels have shared with me so often the importance of blending Heaven and Earth in our spiritual practice. Many of us spend much of our time looking upwards for our spiritual assistance. Yet we often forget about all that God has given us that is part of life on Earth. We live on Earth, walk upon it, breathe the air, receive food that nourishes us, and have material things to clothe us and give us enjoyment. The things we wish to manifest in our lives are frequently rooted in our three-dimensional existence here on Earth. Even though we are spiritual beings, filled with light, we are blessed with physical bodies and their many senses. We see the beauty of a sunset, smell the delicate fragrance of a flower, feel the warm sun upon our skin, hear the delightful laugh of a baby, and taste the many flavors of our foods. We are also blessed with feeling emotion. We would certainly miss much if we didn’t feel joy, love and excitement.
For those of us who would like to bring a greater sense of sacred connection to our everyday life, ceremony is a wonderful way to bridge Heaven and Earth. Sacred ceremony empowers us, and it also honors Mother Earth. Since God created everything and is in everything, everything has spirit, and everything is sacred and holy. In the ancient days, people revered Mother Earth for all that they received from Her. Most people in our modern times take Her for granted. Yet, when we acknowledge the blessings and qualities of the earth, air, fire, and water; when we honor the sacred spirit within the animals, the birds, the trees, and the minerals; we acknowledge what we have been blessed with. We can incorporate these things into our ceremonies to bring the energies, qualities and blessings to us.
We are accustomed to sacred ceremony in weddings, baptisms and funerals, yet there are many other types of ceremony that we can perform for our daily living:
- Releasing
- Blessing
- Manifesting
- Healing
- Celebrating
- Transitions
- Milestones
- Endings
You can make your own ceremonies simple and quick or elaborate and lengthy. You may add the sacred to your everyday celebrations, such as birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and baby showers. You can acknowledge milestones, transitions, and endings. It can be a lot of fun thinking of things to put in your ceremony. You may include things that will create warm, loving feelings, a sense of joy and lightness, and the feelings of empowerment, acknowledgment and honoring.
I hope this has inspired you to add sacred ceremony to your everyday life. Not only are you adding deeper meaning and spiritual presence to your day-to-day living, you are also honoring and including Mother Earth in your life.
